Vedanta – The College Library
Vedanta is located on the fourth floor of the College building. The Library serves the students and staff members of the college. The main attraction of the college Library is Open Access to students and staff members. Students can directly browse the stacks and pick up the desired books. Internet browsing area is also provided for students. Library collection of books is expended every year by adding new books to the Library. The Library has 30,961 books, 24 Periodicals and also subscribes to 12 Newspapers in different languages.
N List Subscription
College Library has subscribed to inflibnet’s N-List programme. Under this Programme students and Staff Members can access more than 6000+ Electronic Journals and more than 1,99,500+ Electronic books. Students and teaching faculty also have a remote login facility to access and download articles.
Current Reading Facility
This facility is available to all the students on College Identity Card. Textbooks, Reference Books & Question Papers are given for reference in the Library only.
Home Reading
This facility is available to all students on Barcoded Identity Card. One text book and one reference book can be taken for Home Reading for seven days.
Book-Bank Facility
The College Library provides Book-Bank Facility for Economically weak students. This year 30 students benefitted from the Book-Bank scheme.
Internet Browsing Facility
Seven Computers are available in the Library for Internet Browsing. Students can make use of these computers.
Online Library Services
In an attempt to make information available to our users during corona pandemic college Library made use of Google classroom. Google classroom was used extensively to provide information about new arrived periodicals in the Library. All the readers were given option to get scanned full text article by sending an e-mail to Library. All the users were acquainted with National Digital Library of India. Links were sent on Google classroom to register for the NDLI. To make available to learners’ community learning resources through a single window, National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT) has sponsored National Digital Library of India (NDLI) Project. Swayam is a programme initiated by Government of India. The objective of this effort is to take the best teaching learning resources to all. Links were shared on Google classroom to join various courses.
Library Committee
Library Committee is formed of faculty members from Degree College. Self finance courses and student’s representation. Library committee checks, recommends and approves materials to be acquired in the Library.
In the year 2022-23 Library committee meeting was held on 9th December 2022, in Principal’s chamber. Students and Staff members actively participated in the discussion.

Facilities Offered
Circulation: Students and faculty members can issue the books for home and current reading in the library. Periodicals and question papers are given to students for current reading only. Previous years question papers are also now available online in the college website under the library department.
Internet Browsing Unit: 8 computers are provided in the library reading room for students for browsing.
Reference Service: On demand reference service provided to the students and faculty members by using various reference sources available in the library. Resources available on internet are also referred.
Book Bank: Book Bank facility is provided to economically weak students of B.Com. Course students.
Information Display & Notification: Library information such as New Arrivals, Library Rules, Journal List, Notices, etc. are displayed on library notice board from time to time. Library notices are also uploaded on the college website. List of New Arrivals are emailed to faculty members from time to time.
Extended Services: Library extends reading facility to alumni of the college perusing higher studies.
Access to Electronic Journals & Electronic Books:
N-List: College library has subscribed to INFLIBNET N-List Program under these users can access 6000+ e-journals and 1, 35,000+ e-books. Remote access to the e-resources is also possible using login ID & password.
Rules & Regulation
- Talking loudly, discussing, loitering, eating, smoking, spitting, using mobile, shifting chairs, reserving chairs, scratching on furniture is strictly prohibited.
- All persons using the Library are subject to the discipline of the college.
- Keep silence and behave in decent manner and maintain discipline.
- The books issued for home reading from library must be returned on due date that is put up on date slip behind the book. If the same book is required again for the next week, student must renew the book on the due date or is subjected to pay fine of Rs. 5/- per day per book.
- In case of loss of a library book the Librarian should be contacted immediately. The lost book should be replaced immediately by whoever lost it. The cost of the book will be recovered only if the book is not available in the market.
- Other material like syllabus copy, question papers, periodicals, CDs, books for current reading, etc. issued from the counter are expected to be returned on the same day. Failing to which will be subjected to pay fine of Rs. 5/- per day.
- The library reading room furniture should be used in proper manner. Do not write or stick anything on the tables or chairs or any furniture.
- The reference books marked with “R” are not allowed to take out of the library for any purpose.
- All the students are required to strictly adhered to the above rules and cooperate with the library staff for smooth functioning of the library. The Librarian has authority to maintain order in the library and may at his/her discretion either exclude from the use of the library for a period of up to six weeks or recommends other appropriate action against any user who knowingly or persistently breaks any library regulation.

On 29th June, 2024 Mr.Ashok Sarpe – Library attended retired on super annuation on this occasion. A small farewell function was organized in the Library. Principal Prof. Dr. D.N. Ganjewar and Librarian Mrs. Shital Shah Felicitated Mr. Ashok Sarpe with a bouquet and momento.
Library Visit for BIM Department
On 26th July, 2024 Library visit was organized by BIM department and Library.
28 Students of FYBIM were taken to library and students were allowed library books and other materials. Students were allowed to see text books, reference books available on different subjects.
Library Orientation
College Library organized Library Tour and Orientation for First Year Students of Degree College & Self Finance Courses from 21/08/2024 to 28/08/2024. Students were given a Power Point Presentation regarding Library Services, Library Collection and Library rules. Students were also taken for Library Tour. Students got an opportunity to see books on different subjects & in different languages.
National Librarians Day
To Commerce the 132nd Birth Anniversary of Dr. S.S.Ranganathan & celebration of National Librarians Day on 12th August, 2024 College Library had organised Thematics display of Reference books & Reference materials in the Library . Dictionaries, Encyclopaedias and other Reference books were arranged. Around 55 no of students and staff members participated in the event.
Hindi Divas
On 14th Sep 2024, On the Occasion of Hindi Divas, college Library organised display of Hindi books. Different books written by Emend authors were arranged. Approximately 100 Students and staff members visited library on the occasion.
Reading Inspiration Day
College Library Celebrated Vachan Prerna Divas to honor birth anniversary of former President, Bharat Ratna Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. Display of Books written by Dr. Kalam was organized on 15th October 2024.

Under the Vachan Sankalp Maharashtracha Activity college Library had organized Samuhik vachan on 2nd January 2025 at 12.30pm in the Library under this activity Students were taken to Library and were asked to select books Group reading activity was conducted Successfully.
Under the Vachan Sankalp Maharashtra cha activity Book Exhibition was Organized in library on 3rd jan 2025 Regional Books.
In Hindi English Gujarati Marathi were displayed in library

School Connect 2.0
Under School connect programme, Resource persons were called to spread awareness about NEP 2020.
Prof. (Dr.) Moushami Datta, Dr. Mrs. Lily Bhushan and Prof.(Dr.) Kishan Pawar were called on 11th & 13th January respectively.
During their Lecture, the Resource persons Shared their Knowledge and expertise on NEP 2020. All the students and staff members were benefited.
