In the academic year 2012-13, ‘Marathi Vangmay Mandal’ was established in Prahladrai Dalmia Lions College of Commerce and Economics. Since its inception, the Mandal has been consistently working for the interest of Marathi as well as Non-Marathi students in the Marathi literature and Marathi culture.

Marathi Bhasha Divas :-

On the occasion of this day, Marathi Vangmay Mandal organizes various Literary Arts Competition yearly, such as poetry writing, story writing or essay writing to create interest among the students regarding the Marathi literature. And, the Mandal also invites renowned congregations in the field of Marathi literature to guide students in the college or to even publish books on Marathi Literature and Marathi Culture.

Ashadi Ekadashi :-

In order, to inculcate the importance of Marathi culture among the students, the Mandal preserves the culture on ‘Ashadi Ekadashi’ by organizing Vitthal Palkhi and Dindi in the college, following the origins and traditions of the festival the students were dressed traditionally in Nauvari Sarees and Dhoti Kurta.

Maharashtrian Food Festival :-

Our college also celebrates Maharashtrian Food Festival where apart from the sessions, Maharashtrian Dhol-Tasha, Lezim, etc. were arranged for performing in the college on the occasion of Birth Anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
A Play is organised by the Mandal to let us know the story of our Great leader Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, which enables the students to develop interest in the History of Maharashtra.

Entrepreneurship Sessions :-

The Mandal also works to shape the future of the students. For this, dignitaries from various fields are invited to impart information and create interest in the subject of entrepreneurship to the students.

Ganesh Mahotsav :-

Our college has celebrated Ganesh Mahotsav for 5 days during Ganesh Chaturthi. Sthapna of an eco-friendly Ganesh Murti was done by the students and teachers. In those 5 days many programmes were organised, wherein, Bhajan Sandhya, Lavni Dance, Singing Competition was included and those 5 days were celebrated with great joy. The Ganesh Murti Visarjan was done in the college itself, as the Murti was eco-friendly.

२०१२-१३ ह्या शैक्षणिक वर्षात प्रल्हादराय दालमिया लायन्स महाविद्यालयात मराठी वाङ्मय मंडळाची स्थापना झाली व स्थापना झाल्यापासून महाविद्यालयातील मराठी वाङ्मय मंडळ हे मराठी तसेच अमराठी विद्यार्थ्यांना मराठी साहित्यामध्ये रुची व मराठी संस्कृतीची गोडी लागावी ह्यासाठी सतत कार्यरत राहून अनेकविध उपक्रम राबवित आहे.

विद्यार्थ्यांना मराठी साहित्यामध्ये रुची निर्माण व्हावी ह्यासाठी मराठी भाषा दिवसाचे औचित्य साधून काव्यलेखन/कथालेखन/निबंधलेखन स्पर्धा आयोजित करणे असो किंवा मग मराठी साहित्यक्षेत्रातील नामांकित मंडळींना विद्यार्थ्यांचे मार्गदर्शन करण्यासाठी महाविद्यालयात आमंत्रित करणे असो किंवा मग अगदीच मराठी साहित्य व मराठी संस्कृतीचे दर्शन घडविणारी ग्रंथदिंडी काढणे असो… मराठी वाङ्मय मंडळ हे सर्व उपक्रम राबविते.

मराठी संस्कृतीची गोडी विद्यार्थ्यांमध्ये निर्माण व्हावी ह्याकरिता मराठी वाङ्मय मंडळाद्वारे आषाढी एकादशीला पंढरपुरातील वारीप्रमाणेच महाविद्यालयामध्ये देखील विठ्ठलाची पालखी व दिंडीचे आयोजन करून तसेच विद्यार्थ्यांच्या पारंपरिक वेशभूषेने संस्कृतीचे जतन केले जाते.

ह्याशिवाय अखंड हिंदुस्थानचे प्रेरणास्थान असलेले छत्रपती शिवाजी महाराज ह्यांच्या जयंतीनिमित्त महाविद्यालयात व्याख्याने, मराठमोळा ढोल-ताशा, लेझीम, इ. गोष्टींचे आयोजन मराठी वाङ्मय मंडळाद्वारे केले जाते ह्यामुळे विद्यार्थ्यांमध्ये महाराष्ट्राचा इतिहास व संस्कृती ह्याबद्दल रुची निर्माण होण्यास मदत होते.

महाविद्यालयात ५ दिवस गणेशोत्सवही साजरा केला जातो. गणेशोत्सवादरम्यान महाराष्ट्रातील लोकनृत्ये सादर करून विद्यार्थी महाराष्ट्राची नृत्यपरंपरा जोपासतात. तसेच विद्यार्थ्यांना आस्वाद घेता यावा ह्याकरिता महाराष्ट्रीयन खाद्यपदार्थ महोत्सव आयोजित केला जातो.

मराठी संस्कृती, मराठी साहित्य, महाराष्ट्राचा इतिहास ह्या सगळ्याचे दर्शन घडवतानाच मराठी वाङ्मय मंडळ विद्यार्थ्यांचे भविष्य घडवण्यासाठीही कार्यरत असते. त्याकरिता विद्यार्थ्यांना उद्योजकता ह्या विषयातील माहिती देण्यासाठी व आवड निर्माण करण्यासाठी विविध क्षेत्रातील मान्यवरांना आमंत्रित केले जाते.
