Bachelor of Mass Media (BMM) which is now called as Bachelor of Arts in Multimedia & Mass Communication (B.A.(MMC)) is a media based course. It is designed to provide students with a firm grounding in communication skills. Today Media stands as an attractive career prospect to the youth. B.A.(MMC) teaches you the technical aspects of media and understand the professional proficiency of it in a practical way, through detailed research, lucid writing skills, oral presentation skills and a mastery of various mass communications media in our global information age. It aims to develop ability for critical thinking and creativity. Everyone knows that today Media has reached every nook and corner of the world and has the power to affect people’s lives. Without the expertise of media and journalists, the world might collapse with no one taking the initiative to spread the news from one place to another and keeping the world connected through the thread of humanity.
Now with media explosion getting bigger and spreading its successful wings all over the world, newer callings such as journalism, advertising, film making, editing, script writing, etc are on demand. This course has been properly planned to offer students a concrete ground in communication skills. It has the syllabus which attracts the individual to undertake B.A.(MMC). E.g. Subjects like Communication skills, creative Writing, Visual Communication, Photography,MotionGraphics,Brand Building, Mobile Journalism, Investigative Journalism, Broadcast Journalism, Internet Issues, Digital Media & Global Media helps you broaden your knowledge as well as your future horizons.

- Orientaion: It is conducted to make the students and parents aware about the progam.
- Parent Teacher Meetings: In an year two PTA meetings are conducted.
- Online Talent Hunt: The event gave the students a platform to showcase their talent. The competitions for theevents were abstract painting, indoor photography, best out of waste, logo design and instagramreels.
- Workshops and Guest lectures: Various guest lectures are conductes by the industry experts and academic scholars all round the year.
- B.A.(MMC) Conference: The program organizes various intercollegiate and national level conferences every year. In 2020 -21 students had organised a conference by the students and for the students. This conference was organised virtually on google meet platform. The topic was “Digitalization – Today’s buzzword Be Ready Be Adaptive”
- B.A.(MMC) department Tabloid SCOOP BULLETIN: A bi-yearly newsletter is published by the students of BAMMC department. The Bulletin aims to tap the creativity of our students – budding journalists and advertising personnel. It aims to showcase the application of the skills that they grasp in the course of the curriculum. The various articles written by students on social issues, events and happenings of the college and society is published.
- Pride Assemblage: The department organized a workshop titled Pride Assemblage in association with The Qknit Foundation. Mr. Ashish Pandya was the Chief Guest, and other dignitaries present included Principal Prof. Dr. D. N. Ganjewar Sir, Ms. Madhavi Nighoskar (Vice Principal of the Degree College), and Ms. Subhashini Naikar (Vice Principal of the SFC Department). The workshop saw a total participation of 76 attendees.
- Ek Muthi Anaj – NSS Donation: For Ek Muthi Anaj – NSS Donation, students from FY, SY, and TY, along with faculty members of the department, generously donated food grains and other groceries.
- FYBAMMC Orientation: An orientation program was conducted for FYBAMMC students and their parents, providing them with essential information about the college facilities, rules, and examination procedures. A total of 77 participants attended this informative session.
- Startup Fusion: Bridging Ideas and Innovation: Third-year students from the BAF and BAMMC programs organized an exhibition titled “Startup Fusion: Bridging Ideas and Innovation.” The event was judged by Dr. Madhavi Nighoskar (Vice-Principal – Degree & HOD of Economics of PDLC) and Mr. Anisha Khilnani, Managing Director and CEO of the Bodhi Institute for Entrepreneurship, all under the capable leadership of Ms. Sneha Hathi. Students showcased innovative ideas, product marketing strategies, and impressive skills in costing, pricing, and marketing.
- MAAC Studio Malad Visit: Students from FYBAMMC embarked on an educational visit to MAAC Studio Malad, with 45 students participating in this insightful experience.
- Internship Opportunities by The Indian Express Group: The Indian Express Group, in collaboration with the Loksatta team, provided valuable internship opportunities to BAMMC students, with 49 students taking part.
- ANUBHAV – A YOUTH FESTIVAL: The department, in association with the Inclusion Cell of the college, proudly participated as a venue partner in ANUBHAV – A YOUTH FESTIVAL, in association with The QKNIT FOUNDATION.
- MET Bandra West Visit: All students from TY and SY were taken for a visit to MET at Bandra West to gain a deeper understanding of filmmaking processes.
- TALENT HUNT 2K25: It was an intra-departmental event, was organized by BAMMC students for both Degree and SFC students, offering a platform for students to showcase their diverse talents. Ms. Vandana Tiwari, Managing Director of All Seasons Hotel, graced the event as both the Chief Guest and judge.
- Guest Lecture for Advertising and Journalism Students: A guest lecture was arranged for Advertising and Journalism students, with Dr. Gajendra Deoda Sir providing valuable guidance on advertising design and newspaper and magazine making.
- Video Walk at Kala Ghoda Art Festival: A study visit titled “Video Walk” was organized at the Kala Ghoda Art Festival, allowing students to explore and capture the festival’s vibrancy as part of their Video Editing curriculum.
- Guest Lecture on ‘Careers in Journalism’: The BAMMC program organized a guest lecture for FYBAMMC and SYBAMMC students on ‘Careers in Journalism.’ Mr. Vikrant Shinde from Pudhari news channel was invited as the resource person to guide students on potential career paths in journalism.
- Media Mantra – Intercollegiate Media Fest: An intercollegiate media fest named ‘Media Mantra’ was organized, featuring events such as Reel Making, Short Film Making, Jingle Making, and Open Mic. The event was graced by notable personalities including Mr. Kanahaiyalal Ji Saraf (Trustee and Hon. Secretary Governing Council), Dr. Sharad Ruia (Chairman of the Governing Council), Mr. Vipul Mayank (Co-Producer at Matchbox), Mr. Vinod Sharma (Channel Head at SY77 Postlabs), Mr. Mohit Das (Video Editor at Mosaic Wellness), Mr. Navel Nazareth (Co-Founder of NAM Solutions), Ms. Sanchita Jhunjhunwala (Copy Editor at iDiva), Ms. Akanksha Mangavkar (HOD), Ms. Neha Sharma (Core Faculty), and Ms. Duheeta Joshi (Core Faculty).

Media Mantra: Media Mantra is a media fest conducted by the BAMMC department in the college. This event gives an exposure to students about various aspects related to media. In the year academic year 2022-23, The theme of the event focused on ‘90’s Era’. Numerous activities were conducted like Sketchography, School Diaries, Pehchana Kya? Bol Bacchan and Back to Back. Each competition is related with the subjects in BAMMC course.

With an aim to go beyond academics, industrial visit offers students a practical perspective on the world of work. Industrial visits are organized by colleges to students with an objective of providing students functional opportunities in different sectors like IT, Manufacturing and services, finance and marketing. Industrial visit helps to combine theoretical knowledge with industrial knowledge.
