BBI (Banking and Insurance) is a full time 3 – year undergraduate program – Affiliated to University of Mumbai. It is an extensive program of 6 semesters.

It is structured in such a way that it provides training in the field of finance, banking, accounting, insurance law, insurance regulations, among others.

The primary focus is on the systematic study of the concepts in the specialized subjects and topics related to Banking & Insurance industry.

The B.Com. (Banking & Insurance) degree program prepares students for a professional qualification in Banking & Insurance and provides a solid base in the fields of Banking, Insurance and Finance, thus making it easier to acquire a leadership/managerial role in both the Banking & Insurance sectors.

The department conducts various activities all year around. Students’ Achievements

1. Ms. Aarti Anand Engawale (FYBBI) presented a research paper in the inter- collegiate conference organized by BAMMC & BBI Inter- Collegiate Conference (Digitalization – Today’s Buzzword “Be ready, Be adaptable”- P D Lions College of Commerce and Economics.

2. Ms. Patel Diya (FYBBI) secured second position in Abstract painting competition – Online Talent Hunt and online brand logo quiz organized by the college. She also participated in pre-event of Montage 21, organized by Nagindas Khandwala College of Commerce, Arts and Management Studies.

3. Ms. Poojary Akshata Rama (FYBBI) secured third position in the Cartooning competition at the 53rd Youth Festival organized by the Department of Students Development, University of Mumbai. She also participated in Abstract painting competition – Online Talent Hunt. She also presented a research paper in the inter- collegiate conference organized by BAMMC & BBI Inter- Collegiate Conference (Digitalization – Today’s Buzzword “Be ready, Be adaptable”- P D Lions College of Commerce and Economics.

4. Ms. Priya Ojha (TYBBI)- secured first position in the inter- collegiate conference organized by BAMMC & BBI Inter- Collegiate Conference (Digitalization – Today’s Buzzword “Be ready, Be adaptable”- P D Lions College of Commerce and Economics.

5. Mr. Rajesh Mohanlal Choudhary (FYBBI) participated in On the spot painting competition, Poster making competition at the 53rd Youth Festival organized by the Department of Students Development, University of Mumbai. Mr. Rajesh also presented a research paper in the inter- collegiate conference organized by BAMMC & BBI Inter- Collegiate Conference (Digitalization – Today’s Buzzword “Be ready, Be adaptable”- P D Lions College of Commerce and Economics.

1. Prof. Priyanka Radhakrishnan
  • Authored the research paper titled & quote role of DR. B.R. Ambedkar in abolishing untouchability in India for International conference conducted by DR.BabaSaheb Ambedkar Architect of modern India .Paper will be published on special Issue in peer Reviewed Referred and UGC listed journal.
2. Prof. Mohini Nadkarni
  • 22/05/2021 – participated and presented a Research Paper titled ‘Conscience of Capitalism’ in the National Multidisciplinary E-Conference on “The Rising Perspectives to Sustainable and Creative Economy”, organized by Thakur College of Science & Commerce, Mumbai Department of Economics and IQAC in association with University of Mumbai, which was published in International Journal of Advance and Innovative Research (Conference Special), with ISSN NO: 2394-7780 and Impact Factor 7.36

The department organises an online workshop for the students of the college on “How to crack Banking Exams?”

With an aim to go beyond academics, industrial visit offers students a practical perspective on the world of work. Industrial visits are organized by colleges to students with an objective of providing students functional opportunities in different sectors like IT, Manufacturing and services, finance and marketing. Industrial visit helps to combine theoretical knowledge with industrial knowledge.

  2. It gives the students an acquaintance to current work practices to experience theoretical knowledge being taught at their college classrooms.
