The Women Development Cell of Prahladrai Dalmia Lions College of Commerce and Economics is a dedicated body committed to ensuring that every woman on campus feels heard, respected, and empowered. It aims to create a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment that promotes gender equality, leadership, and personal growth.
WDC stands as a strong voice against discrimination and harassment. It works towards building a space where women—whether students, teaching, or non-teaching staff—can thrive, raise concerns, and receive the guidance they need. Through awareness, action, and advocacy, the cell leads the way in fostering an atmosphere of dignity and empowerment.
Core Purpose
The core objective of WDC is to address and resolve issues related to women’s safety and well-being. From handling grievances to implementing policy measures for protection and equality, the Cell acts as both a support system and a change-maker.
Aims of WDC
- To prevent sexual harassment on campus and ensure the emotional and physical well-being of female students and staff.
- To raise awareness about gender-based issues, especially discrimination and bias.
- To promote legal literacy and help women understand their rights.
- To provide career guidance and confidence-building platforms for young women.
Objectives of WDC
- To encourage women’s participation in leadership and decision-making roles.
- To conduct training and workshops that promote self-employment and self-reliance.
- To collaborate with NGOs and social organizations working in the field of women empowerment.
- To support knowledge-building around the modern role of women in society.
Who Can Reach Out to WDC?
Any student, faculty member, staff member (including contractual, temporary, or casual workers) can approach the WDC for help, support, or to share concerns. The Cell maintains strict confidentiality and sensitivity in all cases.
