THE DEPARTMENT OF ACCOUNTANCY


The department of Accountancy aims to provide a student centric environment that pomotes academic excellence.

 

The Department of Accountancy organized a Special Guidance Lecture by Prof. B.K. Patel on 26th September in the subject of Direct Tax for TYBCom students.

On 18th February Dr. Sunita Tidke from the department along with Prof. Rajesh Bombe from Department of Economics organized a study tour at IGIDR (Indira Gandhi Institute Development Research) Goregoan, Mumbai. IGIDR demonstrates the functioning of RBI policies, ICT services for researchers and direct – indirect tax provisions. Students were informed about effective measures for revenue collections and innovation in research and development.

On 17th March a guidance lecture was organized for the students of T.Y.B.Com by Prof. B. K. Patel in the subject of Indirect Tax and on the same date Dr. Sunita Tidke also engaged guidance lecture in the subject of Audit.

CA Bharat Patel

  • Was invited as the subject expert – Management nominee on the panel of the Selection Committee for making recommendation to the Governing Council for CAS stage II to Stage III of an Assistant Professor in the subject of Accountancy at Smt. Kamaladevi Gauridutt Mittal College of Arts & Commerce on 17th March.


Dr. Shiva Padme
  • Presented research paper : ‘Primary School Teachers Awareness of Right of Education Act-2009: A Case Study of Aurangabad District(Village: Kannad)’ at the UGC sponsored National Conference on ‘Vision 2050: Future of Law and Judicial Reforms’ organized by the Department of Commerce (Business Law) of our college on 19th September.

Dr. Sunita Tidke
  • Received "Outstanding Research Presentation" souvenir for the paper titled "Agricultural and Economic Development Strategies: Transformation of China and India". The International Interdisciplinary Conference 2014 on ‘Innovative Trends in Commerce , Business Management, I.T, and Social Sciences’organized by Deccan Business Review (International journal of commerce, business, management & I.T ) in association with Institute of Chartered Accountant of India, Aurangabad branch from 28th to 30th May, 2014 in Macau, China.
  • Attended Inter-University west zone workshop ‘Considering NSS as elective subject’ on 6th and 7th June at Shahir Atmarshaikh Auditorium, Churchgate.
  • Attended – State Level Seminar on ‘IT Security / Digital College Administration & Government Policy - Rules & Regulations’ organised by Maniben Nanavati Women's College, Vile Parle in collaboration with Joint Director, Higher Education Mumbai Region, Mumbai on 4th July; Micro Planning Session organized for NSS programme officers on at BK Shroff College, Kandivali on 16th July; awareness session conducted on Dengue and Malaria at K.E.S. College on 6th Jan; Disaster Management Training Programme at Niranjana Majithia College of Commerce on 7th to11th September.
  • Chaired presentation track as a Resource person at the AICTE Sponsored International Conference on ‘Creating a sustainable lens for Higher Education - The New Urgency’ on 29th & 30th July.
  • Participated in- District Level One day Road Safety Seminar at KES Shroff College on15th September; 3 days Training of Trainers program on ‘Youth Leadership & People Skills’ for NSS programme officers organized by the University of Mumbai NSS Cell and TISS, Deonar at Patuk Gala College, Santacruz on 28th September; ‘Mission Swachh’ organised by the Borivali Medical Brotherhood Walkathon, 2016’ at Don Bosco School, Borivali on 31st January.
  • Invited as a judge at Annual inter collegiate cultural fest Universal event (mind eventjam) and debate competition at Vidyavikas college of Arts, Science and Commerce on 2nd January; a judge at the Annual collegiate technical festival - NITA TECHNOTSAV for the event of Best Out Of Waste at Nirmala Memorial Foundation College of Commerce and Science on 13th January.
  • Received recognition as a teacher of the Mumbai University for the M.Com degree in the subject of Accountancy with effect from 27th August 2015. Published & Presented a research paper titled ‘Logistics and E-Commerce of Amazon.in’ at the two-day UGC Sponsored Inter-Disciplinary National Conference organized by Ghanshyamdas Saraf College of Arts & Commerce on ‘Contemporary Issues in New Governance with a Perspective Vision – 2020’ on 1st&2nd Feb having ISSN No: 2231-5063 and Impact Factor of the Journal being : 3.4052.
  • Published and Presented a research paper titled ‘Effects of Foreign Investment on Indian Capitalism’ at the ‘International Business Conference (IBC) on Global Business Scenario’ organized by Department of Commerce in Association with Department of Accounting & Finance having ISBN No: 978-81-927102-2-8 & Impact Factor: 3.3210. on 5th & 6th February.
  • Attended a one day National Conference on Contemporary strategies in Higher Education organised by Parmeshwaridevi Durgadutt Tibrewala Lions Juhu College of Arts, Commerce & Science on 13th February.
  • Was awarded the trophy of the BEST CONTINGENT LEADER at the Residential State level training camp on Disaster Preparedness by Revenue Minister Mr. Eknathrao Khadse and Dr. Vasudha Kamat, Vice Chancellor, SNDT Women’s University on 3rd June.
  • The Department with its committed team of teaching faculty is committed to bring benefit to the student community by equipping them with the right skill of accounting & auditing for life is all about garnering assets.

Farewell to CA Deepak Kadhi:
  • The Department bid adieu to CA Deepak Kadhi on the occasion of his super-annuation. Both Mr. & Mrs. Kadhi were felicitated. CA Deepak Kadhi was the Head of this Department and has been working relentlessly with our institution for the past 35 years. We wish him all the best.
