Master of Commerce - MCom

Prahladrai Dalmia Lions College of Commerce & Economics offers Master of Commerce in Advance Accountancy and Business Management. Master of Commerce is a two year full time master’s program divided in four semesters. The course is affiliated to University of Mumbai. The programme aims at developing accounting, managerial and organizational skills in the learners, and also to promote entrepreneurial skills. The programme opens up a plethora of career and higher study opportunities including company secretaries, chartered accountants, cost/ work accountants, banking, finance and management.

Our college started M.com in Advance Accountancy in the academic year 2004-05 and M.Com in Business Management in the academic year 2007-08.

Intake Capacity:

M.Com (Advance Accountancy) – 120 students

M.Com (Business Management) – 60 students

Admission:

A student after passing B.Com or equivalent examination can apply for admission to M.Com. A student is admitted as per rules framed by the University of Mumbai and the Government of Maharashtra. For M. Com Part I, students will be enrolled according to the basis of merit. Students are expected to go through the rules applicable for the 'Admission Process', which are usually notified to the students along with merit application form. After the admission procedure, a student must follow the Eligibility norms.

Eligibility: Graduate in B.Com/BAF/BBI/BMS/BFM/BIM as per University of Mumbai ordinance no. 0.5977 and 0.5978

Duration: 2 years (4 Semesters)

The medium of Instructions for M.Com course in this College is English.

Research Project Work:

There is a Research Project to be prepared by a student during the third and fourth semester. The objective of the project work is to introduce students to research methodology in the subject and prepare them for pursuing research in theoretical or experimental or computational areas of the subject. The project work is to be undertaken under the guidance of a teacher allotted to a student by the College.

Credit System

The University has introduced Choice Based Credit System for M.Com. The Choice Based Credit System details are available on the University web-site.
